"Fast, elegant application. This application works extremely well, and takes up less than 1 MB on my Palm. Not only does it have more entries (over 70,000) than most compact Portuguese-English dictionaries, but it makes finding words and expressions faster if you can write Graffiti. The resident option allows me to read Jornal do Brasil articles and look up words without exiting the Avantgo application, with simply a long tap on the find button. And you can edit entries! Very useful, since continental and Brazilian Portuguese differ markedly. I can add past participles or conjugations of irregular verbs - very nice! As a result, I've recommended this application to my colleagues (as American diplomats stationed in Brazil, we need to have a solid reference). I have tried two other dictionaries and find the SlovoEd series by far the best.

"I was one of the beta testers for the SlovoEd German-English dictionary program. From a program standpoint I was most impressed with the vast amount of data offered for the least amount of storage space on my Palm IIIc. As for the content of the dictionary, I can only say that it meets my every need. I live and work in Germany and I use this program daily. What is very helpful for me is that in addition to the word for word translations are the phrases offered which are very practical and useful in daily conversations and correspondence. I have not had one occasion where my German colleagues have told me that my translation is incorrect or incoherent. "I'm using Visor DeLuxe with PalmOS for about 6 months.
